Hello! I’m Leesa Potts, a counseling student at Amberton University with a deep passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges with hope, encouragement, and practical support. My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, connection, and the belief that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and thrive when given a safe and supportive space.

Before entering the counseling field, I spent more than 15 years working in education, mentoring students, coaching, and training both children and adults. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and meeting people exactly where they are—skills that I now bring into my counseling work.

For more than a decade, I have also been a dedicated volunteer and host mom to exchange students, working closely with teens from around the world. Through this work, I’ve guided students and host families through transitions, culture shock, communication challenges, and relationship building. This experience has shaped my appreciation for cultural diversity and the unique stories each person carries.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals (ages 10+) navigating grief and loss, career transitions, blended family dynamics, caregiver support, infertility, adoption, attachment, depression, anxiety, forgiveness, cultural awareness, self-esteem, and stress management.
